You can enter/exit Safe Mode as many times you need, it will not do any harm to your computer. The Windows XP license within XP mode is tied into the host systems licensing (I can't tell you how exactly it works). Just restart your PC the usual way, and if there’s nothing wrong with your OS, it will reboot normally.
